Ingredients:
1 cup of cultured almonds (see recipe below)
3 Tblsp fresh lemon juice
2 Tblsp nutritional yeast
2 Tblsp liquid aminos (or soy sauce)
1/2 of a seeded habenero
2 garlic cloves
1 tsp Tabasco sauce
1 tsp ghost pepper mustard or 1/8 to 1/4 of a seeded ghost pepper
1 Tblsp maple syrup
1/2 tsp coarse kosher salt
Up to 1/4 cup of water for a more runny dip or no water for a thicker dip
Ingredients for Cultured Almonds:
1 cup blanched almonds
1 Tbsp neutral tasting cooking oil (like sunflower oil)
1/2 cup water
4 vegan probiotic capsules
Instructions for Cultured Almonds:
Soak almonds overnight. Rinse then drain and place in a high speed blender with the oil and 3/4 cup water. Blend until smooth. Remove from blender and place in a bowl. Stir in probiotic capsules. Cover and leave sitting out for 1 or 2 days until the nuts change from tasting like blended almonds to more of a tangy cheese sort of flavor. These are now ready to use.
Instructions:
In a bowl place 1 cup of the cultured almonds. Set aside. Add all remaining ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth. Stir this liquid into the bowl of almonds until well combined. Check for seasoning.
